Evolved Motion Vectors (EMV) is a technology that determines the scene’s relative motion from two consecutive grayscale images. It requires no other information about the camera or the scene. This solution is distinguished by its small footprint and accuracy. The solution’s accuracy is practically identical to that of a comprehensive (complete) search yet requires between 8X and 10X fewer calculations and a memory size of merely 10KB.
